The Eye of Thios
Coillte is both a geographical location and a wandering people group. If one refers to “Coillte” they are generally referring to the millions of acres of woodland to the west of Cathair. However, if they refer to The Coillte, they are referring to the people who live in, wander, and warden the great wood.
The Cathair do not have cities. They wander in small groups, never staying in one location long enough to irreparably damage the area. They live in tents, make small fires, and walk softly. Most the furs and hides which are sewn into masterful articles of clothing and armor are gathered and cured by the Cathair and are traded for small convenience items such as arrowheads and textiles. They are also known to gather exotic fruits of incomparable taste, which they give up quite willingly for a high rate of exchange. Though they say nothing, most of the Coillte agree that the fruit they trade is generally useless by the time it reaches Cathair. It is best when freshly picked.
While most of the Coillte are hunters, some also dabble in elemental magics. However, natural talent with the elements is rare. It is thus highly respected, but poorly understood.
